Summary of Sandstorm
'The glass enclosure exploded outwards. Stabbing spears pierced his left side. But he barely felt the cuts as a wave of blast-furnace heat struck him, searing, burning away all the oxygen. The next explosion ripped Harry from his feet and threw his body clear across the gallery. But only flaming bones hit the security gate, melting themselves into the steel grating...' Lady Kara Kensington's family paid a high price in money and blood to found the gallery that now lies in ruins. And her search for answers is about to lead her into a world she never imagined existed: a lost city, buried beneath the Arabian desert, where something astonishing is waiting...A covert government operative hunting down a traitor is being drawn there as well. But at the end of a perilous journey lies an ageless power that can create a utopia - or tear down everything humankind has built over millennia of civilisation...
Indiaplaza review
This downside is that this book is about a generally unknown concept of The lost
City of Ubar in the gulf. Since it is not a famous event, the reader will take
some time to comprehend the topic. But for what it's worth, this is a fast-paced
book and the first in the Sigma series.
Though Commander Gray Pierce is not introduced in this adventure, the current
lead, Painter Crowe takes on his nemesis to find the lost city. It starts from a
phenomenon in a London museum and takes them across the Arabian desert.
A concept is a little difficult to understand although the action sequences are
good. There's a lot of supernatural events involved starting from a rare kind of
Sandstorm. Painter makes a good protagonist although comparing both, Gray is
better.
Well, about the plot, the city of Ubar was destroyed suddenly and nobody knows
the reason. Then Painter and team find out that the queen herself did the bad
deed for a special reason. And the plot thickens...
Unlike other titles in the Sigma series, the level of imagination associated
here is the highest is what we felt. But one never knows.
